In a world flooded with images, choosing an artwork can be difficult. I believe that the right artwork should offer more than a beautiful image. It should be something you enjoy living with and return to over time.

My works are created with a focus on simplicity, balance and atmosphere. I look for images that have a quiet quality, but also enough detail and character to keep revealing something new.

Every artwork begins with my own photography and develops through a careful process of editing, refinement and physical testing. I take the time to make sure that the finished work feels right, both on the screen and on the wall.

The result is a limited-edition fine art print created to become part of your surroundings and something that can bring calm, energy and character to a room for many years to come.

Buying an Artwork

Limited Editions

All my works are produced as limited editions. The edition size may vary and is stated in the Shop section for each individual work.

Normally, editions are limited to 10 prints per size, with smaller editions of 3 prints for some of the larger formats, such as 106 × 159 cm.

Each work is numbered and signed.

Fine Art Papers

My works are made to last for generations. I therefore use high-quality fine art papers from Canson and Hahnemühle, together with professional pigment inks.

The combination of archival-quality paper and pigment inks is chosen to ensure excellent image quality, stability and longevity.

Certificate of Authenticity

Every artwork is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity, confirming the authenticity of the work and its place within the limited edition.

Artwork Visualisation

If you are unsure which artwork would suit your home, or what size would work best, I offer an Artwork Visualisation service.

Simply take a photograph of your wall using a camera or mobile phone. Include a measurement of the wall, or the height or size of a piece of furniture that is visible in the photograph, and send it to me together with the works you are considering.

I will then create a visualisation showing the selected artwork at the correct scale in your space, making it easier to see how the different works and sizes might look in your home.

Careful Packaging & Shipping

Opening a package containing art should feel a little like opening a Christmas gift, exciting, personal and something to look forward to.

I personally take care of the packaging to ensure that your artwork is protected throughout its journey and arrives safely at your door.

The package also includes the Certificate of Authenticity and a story about the image, giving you some insight into its background and creation.

Should the artwork be damaged during transportation, please let me know and simply return it to me. I will send you a new print as soon as possible.

About

Who is Arne Skinlo

I am a Norwegian photographer and artist, based in Bergen, Norway.

Photography has been part of my life for many years, and over time it has developed into a broader artistic practice. Working with my own photographs, the finished works often move beyond traditional photography through digital editing and careful refinement.

I am particularly drawn to simple forms, strong lines, light, and the subtle qualities found in landscapes and architecture. I look for images that have a sense of calm and balance, but also something that makes you want to look a little longer.

Much of my work is about reducing rather than adding — finding the essential elements in an image and giving them room to breathe.

The finished works are produced as fine art prints, created to be experienced as original works of art in a home or other carefully considered space.

For me, the most rewarding part of the process is when a work finds its place with someone else and continues to bring them enjoyment long after they first saw it.

How I work

My work starts with photography.

I am always looking for interesting shapes, lines, light and details in the world around me. Sometimes I know immediately that I have found something worth photographing. Other times, an image grows in importance over time.

Back in the studio, I work with the photographs digitally. The aim is not to make the image more complicated, but to find a stronger and more balanced expression.

I spend a great deal of time looking at the details. Small changes can make a significant difference to the overall feeling of a work.

I want the finished image to feel simple and natural, even when the process behind it has been quite extensive.

The final step is to produce the work as a fine art print. At this stage, size, paper, colour and surface become part of the work itself.

I always make a test print and hang it on the wall, where I live with it for a while. What looks right on a screen does not always look right on a wall. Seeing the work in its intended physical form often reveals things that are difficult to see on a monitor.
